“I don’t think we should have any travel to Cuba”, says Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) in an interview with CBS Miami.
More than 1.3 million Cubans live in the United States.
“Who would be most affected if flights between Cuba and the United States were suspended?”, asked the journalist.
“Cuba”, says Oremis.
“I think both sides, the same for us here as for those [in the U.S.]”, says Josefina.
“Millions of family members who are in the U.S. wouldn’t come to Cuba to visit their relatives”, says Yaniris.
“I have my son in the U.S., I have my sister, I have my nieces”, says Gilberto.
“How do you think it would affect you if the flights were canceled?”, asked the journalist.
“Sentimentally it would truly hurt me because I would go a long time without seeing my son”, said Osmel.
“If my family can't come, I would feel sad because I wouldn’t see them anymore”, said Noreisy.
“The travel ban would hurt everyone, taxi drivers, those who work in the tourism sector, the population, everyone”, said Frank.
“It would affect us in every way. Almost all of our family is there. I myself have a brother in the U.S.”, said Oremis.
In 2019, the Trump administration banned travel by U.S. airlines to every city except Havana
“Everybody wants to travel. Everybody wants to see their family”, said Fernando.
“When you go from here to another country, looking for a better life, looking for economic possibilities, family bonds can be broken, and now it would be worse”, said Diana.
